CHRISTMAS 2019 - OVER AND OUT....
Well guys, what can I say, Christmas 2019 is done! Weeks, actually MONTHS of planning, singing to Mariah, choosing a tree, getting tangled in tape, wrapped up in ribbon, buying endless packets of mince pies, (we’ll be eating them until March) battling crowds in Ikea for that one plate you need to discover they don’t do pink any more! (I know right??) and then it arrives. CHRISTMAS DAY!! We literally did nothing this year… Napped, ate, & watched Emmerdale. lol! OMG! Who is the Daddy? ARGH! I’m voting David! but we’ll see!! I think we find out on Monday!! Then of course Corrie!! Bloody hell! Derek went mad!! I can’t wait for Gary to get his comeuppance!! it’s long over due!! Anyway!! Sorry! I got caught up in the soap whirlwind!! Me & Mr B were and still are full of a cold!! argh!! so bad! But on Boxing Day some of the Bell clan came over for a lovely late Crimbo lunch. Obvs Father Christmas had accidentally left some little gifts for the children here… so nice seeing a kid open a present :-) The most fun part for me was planning the table, I really wanted to do something fun, cute and I’m totally obsessed with Pete and Sophie on Gogglebox and the epic array of fun cups they have each week. I’ve been trawling shops for about 3 months collecting all different ones, it was so much fun. In the end most of them were from George @ Asda. I had a bear, hedgehog, giraffe, unicorn…. etc…. each one had a little name tag tied to the side with some gold glitter for a bit of festive glam :-) I hand made napkins from some spare liberty cotton I have and bundled my lovely new matte gold cutlery together with some matching navy ribbon, a mini gold tinsel wreath and a little Christmas 2019 tag. I made the place mats, alternating between some watercolour snowflakes on a navy base with a cute illustration of my baby Albert with our pink christmas tree. Instead of the traditional crackers I opted for a pyramid style table favour, Stuffed with confetti, a Christmas pud chocolate and a little cat joke (thanks Google!) For a center piece I got a cute bright blue runner from Ikea, and some navy tinsel from Primark, and literally plonked them in the middle of the table with a crystal cut glass bowl filled with Quality Streets. DREAMY if I do say so myself. lol! We soaked the chicken in salt water and maple syrup over night, I’ve never done this before but OMG it tasted lovely! so tender and juicy… I’ll defo do that again. Before long the dinner was eaten, the Christmas pudding devoured, and coffee’s were served… and it was all over for 2019….
Bring on Christmas 2020… How many days to go?
